Ketagalan Culture Center

The "ceremonial attire" is akin to contemporary formal wear. It is donned by indigenous communities during rituals and festive occasions to showcase themselves and mark their cultural identity. The distinct features of indigenous clothing are showcased through indigenous women's exquisite weaving and embroidery skills. They skillfully transform mythical legends and elements from nature into intricate patterns and embroidered pieces. Over a hundred years of refinement and innovation have made their ceremonial attire more magnificent and precious.

Due to the widespread public response to the "Time of Ceremonial Attire" Taiwan Indigenous Costumes Permanent Exhibition last year (2022), the Ketagalan Culture Center has expanded the core focus of this year's "Time of Ceremonial Attire". Not only does it showcase the Center's collection of clothing accessories and other cultural artifacts, but it also includes traditional Tibetan attire and an introduction to the Ketagalan tribe, jointly interweaving to present the vibrant and diverse cultural spectrum of "Time of Ceremonial Attire II".

The exhibition venue comprises five main areas: "The Era of Plant and Animal Skin", "Time of Ceremonial Attire", "The Transition of Plains Indigenous Peoples' Clothing", "Heritage Crafts", and "About the Ketagalan Tribe". Visiting the Ketagalan Culture Center will give you the sensation of visiting individual tribes. Here, you will have the opportunity to not only witness the cultural symbols and codes passed down by indigenous peoples for centuries and the life aesthetics displayed in the exquisite traditional attire, but also delve deeply into the mythical legends and ethnic culture behind these intricate patterns.
