| Ijianq Kadadepan- Aboriginal bronze arts solo exhibition |

Ijianq Kadadepan who is from Chipen tribe in Taitung has participated in the aboriginal handicraft competition titled “The Beauty of Aboriginal Arts ”held by Taipei Indigenous People Commission in 2006, and he was awarded gold medal for his sculpture ” Shemagen Tribe- Love story about Princess and Stag”. The love story about a Beinan princess and a stag has been handed down for centuries and Ijianq Kadadepan just did his work based on this story. Under his interpretation, his works are primitive, simple and skillful, which surprised the judges and the visitors that they later realized aboriginal legends can be so dynamic.
Ijianq Kadadepan’s works are based on tradition and focus on the culture and growing environment of Taiwanese aborigines. He shows what he saw, what he heard, what he felt, and what he thought about on his works which are closed to the reality, which presents his unique and creativity. His works such as “The Loneliness of the Warrior ” in 2001, “Lanyu Flavor” in 2002...etc. are recognized by the public, which encouraged Ijianq Kadadepan a lot because he had risked himself in making such a difficult decision - being an artist.
In order to let those who like aboriginal culture see Ijianq Kadadepan’s bronze sculptures, Taipei Ketagalan Culture Center will display 30 pieces of Ijianq Kadadepan’s bronze sculptures in art space from 2006/10/11 to 2006/11//19. Hope every visitor can get realize the most primitive culture and living of Taiwan. Ijianq Kadadepan applied the casting technique he learned form Mr. Huang and his own sculpture technique on his works, which will let everyone appreciate the simple and romantic aboriginal flavor.
